Christopher Buhrman - Principal
Christopher Buhrman is currently based in Singapore covering Asian private capital connecting with off-market real estate investment opportunities in Japan and the US. Christoper has over 15 years of commercial real estate experience in the areas of investment brokerage, occupier advisory, corporate consulting, asset repositioning (Industrial/Office/Hospitality), financial analysis, and investment research.
Prior to being based in Singapore, Christopher spent 5+ years based in Tokyo covering institutional-grade real estate working for top global real estate firms. In these roles, Christopher provided advisory services to multinational corporations entering the Tokyo real estate market with office and industrial space requirements. Christopher also instructed a Real Estate Finance course for a large Japanese developer through New York University’s Tokyo campus.
In the US, Christopher worked as an Investment Broker for a southeast-based real estate investment brokerage firm where he represented a diverse client base, from local private equity investors to institutional multifamily firms. Christopher also has extensive experience in the repositioning of corporate real estate assets from his time as a Director at Actio Corporate Asset Advisors, a NYC-based corporate real estate consulting firm. At ACTIO, Christopher consulted Fortune 500 CFOs and Directors of Real Estate on various projects including build-to-suit developments, portfolio management, sale-leasebacks, repositioning, and redevelopment of surplus assets, and environmentally challenged asset disposition, and was in charge of all financial analysis for the firm.
Christopher earned a Master of Science in Real Estate (MSRE) with a concentration in Finance & Investment from New York University and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Economics from the University of Washington (Seattle). Chris also holds a Tennessee Real Estate Sales license.
Alan Christie - Advisor
Alan has acted for and/or advised clients/owners within the real estate, financial services and hospitality industries with focus on: operations, asset management and acquisition and disposition of: hotels and resorts, office buildings, mixed-use developments, residential and retail complexes in the Middle East, Africa, Europe, North America and Asia Pacific. This has required Alan to be able to integrate and communicate with members of various teams with regards to deal sourcing, evaluation, diligence, execution and asset management – maximising asset values across various asset classes and sectors.
Alan’s roles have often intertwined with other Real Estate functions and his expertise has been called upon with regards to configuring the shape of a project to meet the demands of the market, and ensuring that operation delivers the best value, on budget and on time.
Alan’s roles have also had a large Development, focus, where he has been constantly seeking out and appraising development sites (both in House, and as a 3rd party Asset Manager) on behalf of investors, through full contract negotiation (lease and management contract) to full operation.
Through asset management, he has focused on the owners'/client’s objectives, and in doing so have analysed deal structures and created solutions to reduce costs to the client/owner, maximising their income/value.
Having worked in hotel operations, corporate finance, investment and asset management, Alan is recognised as a hospitality specialist, particularly mixed use resort investment, development and asset management, where he has maximised asset values through, executing ownership and/or asset management objectives - increasing net income and protecting Owner’s investment through approval of operational, capital budget, and commercial plans.
